Bill's greatest joy was spending time with his wife, four children, and six grandchildren. He was looking forward to his son, Dave's wedding in May. His family includes his wife Sharon; daughter Mary (John) Cheasick of Plymouth, MN; sons Bill of Lake Orion, MI; Mike (Kimberly) of New Berlin, WI; and Dave (Karen Jones, fiancee) of Oshkosh, WI. The lights of his life were his grandchildren, Madeline “Maddie,” Brett, Breanna, Julia, Ava, and Olivia. Bill's family also includes his brother Jim (Pat) of Fort Atkinson, WI; his sister Mary (John) Posewitz of Sheboygan, WI; brother-in-law, Jim (Sandy) Zepnick, his godfather, Uncle Lawrence Wagner and many special nieces and nephews. Bill’s parents Alfred and Julia, and his father and mother-in-law, Jacob and Agnes Zepnick, preceded him in death.
Bill dedicated 35 years of his life to his second family at Lourdes High School teaching Chemistry, Physics, and Math. He cherished his students and all of their accomplishments in both career and family. He never missed an opportunity to attend a class reunion, a former student’s wedding, or share a story of a student’s latest success. Since his retirement in 2000, Bill missed the many special friendships he had with his fellow faculty and staff.
Bill was always actively involved in his children's lives, particularly in the Boy Scouts of America. His hobbies included woodworking, restoring and driving Mustangs, and following his favorite sports teams. Most recently Bill was actively involved in St. Raphael’s Parish and the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
The family wishes to thank all of his many friends for their concern and prayers for Bill’s health. We especially want to thank Fr. Dan, Sister Pam, Sister Margrit, the nurses and doctors who cared for him during his last week. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Radford, Dr. Lake, and the nurses at the dialysis center.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at St. Raphael’s on Tuesday, March 4, 2003, with a visitation from 4 to 7 p.m., followed by funeral mass. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Lourdes High School or St Raphael's the Archangel Catholic Church.
“At the end of the day, all that matters is that we have loved and been loved.”
