Places I have Worked: Places I have worked: I worked for Wisconsin Telephone in Oshkosh and Berlin, Pacific Telephone and Telegraph in Oceanside CA for about 7 years total. When the Berlin office closed, I decided that I didn’t want to drive all the way to Oshkosh every day, so I got a job at the local bank. I worked at the bank in Redgranite and in Wautoma for about 6 years. One day one of the customers came in and asked if I would like a job at Waushara Electric Cooperative in the engineering and operations department. I started out dispatching and answering the phone. The job turned into an opportunity to ‘discover’ my talents. The job evolved and eventually I was doing everything from computerized mapping, to inventory control. I developed computer programs to keep track of our inventory, our SCADA system, and others. It was great, since I never knew a thing about computers. Since 1992, the Cooperative has merged with Adams-Columbia Electric Cooperative, which is now the largest electric Cooperative in the state of Wisconsin. The main office is in Friendship, but because I don’t care for the long drive every day, I decided to stay at the Wautoma office. Many of my ‘jobs’ have moved over to the main office, but I am still very busy and work may hours overtime from early spring to late fall. I have been there for 17 years. The employees are like a ‘family’. Once a month, the line department has a safety meeting and I cater their lunch. The money we make goes to charity.

Places I have Traveled: Places I have Traveled: I have been fortunate to travel most of the states when I was growing up. My husband does not like to travel, so I have been fortunate to be invited to go along with my parents on a few trips, including a visit to Boston to see my brother. Boston, Mass., and San Diego, Calif. are my 2 favorite places to visit. I was also invited to travel with my mother to Germany and Switzerland.

About My Family: About my family: My husband Jim and I have been married 21 years. I have 2 grown daughters from my first marriage. Amy is 28 and Jill is 26. We also have a wonderful granddaughter Carly, who just turned 6. Since her mom works a lot of strange hours, Jim and I baby-sit often. Carly is ‘papa’s’ girl. She is a joy and we are fortunate to have her living so close to us. My father died on my 45th birthday. I sure miss him. My mother remarried a wonderful man, and moved to Berlin, which is about 12 miles from my home. I have one sister in Wild Rose, one in Omro and one in Oshkosh. We get together often. My “baby” brother lives in Boston, and is the principal clarinetist for the Boston Pops and Boston Symphony. We don’t get to visit him as often as we’d like, but we get to watch him on television, whenever the Pops are on.

Future Plans: My Future Plans: To be able to retire soon in good health! I want to be able to travel more, so I am hoping to get my husband to go along.
