Chris Dewing MathewsonPlaces I have Worked: After graduating from Lourdes I started working at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in various departments for about 8 years. In 1969 I married John Mathewson. After our son Paul (named after Paul Muetzel) was born, I was a stay-at-home mom for 2-1/2 years until he died from meningitis in 1976. Shortly thereafter we moved to Denver, CO where I've lived ever since. I stayed home to raise my two daughters for five years until we divorced, then went to work for oil and gas companies for the past eighteen years. Presently I am an engineering technician in the reservoir engineering department of HS Resources, Inc., an oil and gas exploration and transportation company. In the past year I have also worked part-time for a sports memorabilia dealer who organizes autograph sessions for professional athletes, since sports spectating is my passion, especially professional baseball. I have become quite a sports memorabilia collector and enjoy getting autographs whenever possible. Every Monday evening I also do volunteer work at a homeless shelter in Denver where we feed up to 700 people each night.

Places I have Traveled: I've been to Toronto, Canada, Cancun, Mexico, about 2/3 of the U.S. including all of the western and central states and a few eastern and southern states.

With all of the beauty of the Rocky Mountains in my backyard, I really enjoy spending time hiking, biking and just enjoying the scenery in Colorado. Can you believe I have never skied downhill in my life and have no desire to try it? This year I would like to try cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

About My Family: My daughter Amy Marie is now 22 years old and Jill Nicole is 21 years old. Amy has been attending Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO but will be taking a semester off now that she gave birth on 8/14/00 to my first grandchild, an adorable little boy named Kadin Mathew Wilson. Her husband, Mark, will be finishing his degree in chemical engineering at the University of Oklahoma in Tulsa and, hopefully, they will move back to Colorado permanently. Being a grandmother has been the greatest thing that could happen. My other daughter, Jill, is in her junior year at Colorado State University in Fort Collins majoring in civil engineering. Both girls take after their father in that Amy is 5'10" and Jill is 5'11". My mother moved into a retirement home in Oshkosh, father passed away in 1989, sister Connie and brothers Jim and Kevin live in the Oshkosh area, and sister Diane lives in Columbus, OH with her husband and three grown children.

Future Plans: I plan on living in Colorado forever. After I retire from oil and gas I hope to travel and enjoy my grandchildren.

Are you attending the 50th BD Bash? No since I will be in Oshkosh for my mother's 80th birthday party just before Christmas.

The person I most want to see at the 50th Birthday Bash is: If I were coming, I would most like to see Nancy (Stadler) Slaats, Sue (Beck) Fernandez, and Sandy (Troxell) Kern since they were my best friends while growing up, and Marie (Belongie) Kemp, Mary Sue Lang, and Paul Muetzel.
